To
Study The Effect Of Curing On The Strength Of Concerete.
1. Eqpt / Materials
Cylinders/cubes molds, concrete
mixer, concrete making materials, vibrating table, comp testing machine,
weighing balance, floats and mixing trays etc.
2. Procedure
a. Prepare
the concrete mix for 9 speciments and fill the mold in three layers on
vibrating table at a constant workability.
b. De-mold
the specimens after 24 hours and place all of them in the curing tank.
c. Take
out a set of 3 cyl from the tank at the age of 3 days, 7 days and 28 days.
d. Test
all the specimens in comp testing machine at the age of 28 days, at the
specified rate pf loading.
e. Calculate
the comp strength of concrete and plot a
graph between water cured age and comp str.
3. Precautions
a. Molds
should be oiled before filling.
b. Cyl
should be capped with suitable capping material.
c. Specimens
should be tested in SSD condition.
d. Load-should
be applied without shock and at the specified rate.
4. Details of
readings/absns/data to be recorded/collected
