Dubai skyline, Dubai, UAE

Satisfaction

It might look like an other world fantasy tale - but this scene is right here on earth. The bizarre shots show Dubai covered under a blanket of fog. The world's tallest building - the 2,700ft-high Burj Khalifa - can be seen bursting through the dense fog. Fog gathers in Dubai because of a rise in temperature, and tends to happen around spring time. While it may look pretty, it can cause chaos for motorists.

Dubai now boasts more completed or topped-out skyscrapers higher than 2/3 km, 1/3 km, or 1/4 km than any other city. A culmination point was reached in 2010 with the completion of the Burj Khalifa (Khalifa Tower). The rapid pace of construction unparalled in modern human history during the decade of the 2000s, leaves Dubai with the world's tallest skyline as of 4 January 2010.
