The design of the New and
Astonishing Qatar World Cup Stadiums in Qatar has been under discussion from
its starting date, due to its unique and awkward design. Although the artist
said that the he got the idea of curves of the stadium from the traditional and
famous Qatar fishing boat, criticizers are saying entirely different stories- an
outstanding similarity with women’s vagina.
The expert female architect Zaha Hadid is not
amused by comparing her design with female genitalia. “It’s too embarrassing that
they are comparing my design with such a nonsense like this,” while talking to Time. “What are they thinking? You construct any thing
with a hole in it and they will compare it with vagina? That’s absurd.” No such
assumptions and interpretations would be done, she further said, “If a male
architect had done this design.”

a positive feminist message in this resemblance: author Holly
Baxter had said “In a world where sport and vaginas rarely come together
with such prominence (see every UK female footballer’s salary versus every UK
male footballer’s salary,” she writes, the stadium’s resemblance to a vagina
“can only be a good thing.”
